The picture was taken in Jersey in 1923. Eliza Jane is purported to have been 6' 2" in height. The three children are all of course her grandchildren and she is my great grandma. She was born a Le Sauteur and married her first cousin, Thomas John Le Sauteur, and so never changed her name.

Thomas John was a very short man and his daughters liked to tease their mother, Eliza, by saying that Thomas always stood on sixpenny-worth of coppers in order to kiss her.
